CM discusses March 18 event with district heads of BJP

Office bearers complain about party workers sharing baseless opinions on social media

District heads of the Bharatiya Janata Party have told chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat that some party workers are stating baseless things on Whatsapp groups. They said that strict action should be taken against such persons. The party office bearers said this in a meeting presided over by the chief minister in Gairsain on Sunday to discuss details of the programme to be held on March 18 to mark four years of the state government in office.

Rawat told the office bearers that union minister Nitin Gadkari will be the chief guest in the state level programme to be held on March 18 at Lacchiwala in Doiwala constituency while similar events will be held simultaneously in all the assembly constituencies of the state. He asked them to seek the cooperation of party workers for publicising the event at the district level. Referring to the salient features of the state government’s works, Rawat said that budgetary provisions have been specially made this time for women, youths, new Panchayats and school children among others. The Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana, drinking water connection for just Re one in rural areas, milk on four days and eggs on one day per child in Anganwadi centres are among the other prominent measures taken by the state government. Further, special focus is being laid by the state government to tackle the problem of migration. Rawat also stressed on the importance of collective focus on how to improve the rural economy of the state. Referring to the right accorded to women of co-ownership in their husband’s ancestral property, the CM said that this decision will have major positive repercussions in the future.

The future action plan of the party was also discussed in the meeting.The CM and district heads also discussed plans to further strengthen the party at the booth level. The district heads said that some party workers are stating baseless things on Whatsapp groups and said that stringent action should be taken against such persons.
