CM grants approvals for various departmental works

Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat granted financial approvals along with his approval for release of funds to start work in the current financial year for various public interest works and announcements related to the Urban Development, Medical Health, Home and other departments.

The CM had announced setting up of the Ranikhet municipality office building at Chiliyanaula. For this, the CM granted approval for Rs 98.96 lakh out of Rs 1.98 crore in the current financial year. Rawat also granted approval with relaxation in regulations to accord Nagar Panchayat status to Nagla Gram Panchayat in Udham Singh Nagar district. The Urban Development department will now take necessary action as per the rules to grant urban local body status to Nagla. The CM Rs 28.27 lakh financial approval and permitted release of 40 per cent of the amount for construction of Ambedkar Park near Yuva Bhawan in Lohaghat Nagar Panchayat, as per his announcement. He also granted approval for Rs 55.8 lakh- 5er cent of R 1.12 crore for construction of Ukhimath Nagar Panchayat office building and issued instructions to release the amount in the current financial year.

Further, as per the CM’s announcement, in the Rudraprayag Vidhan Sabha constituency, road construction will be undertaken from Kamoldi Molkakhal motor road to Pipli playground. For this task, Rawat has granted financial approval of Rs 75.98 lakh in the current financial year.

Under the Medical Health department, the CM has approved cancelling the disciplinary action underway against the then chief medical officer of Udham Singh Nagar Dr Hemant Kumar Joshi who is now retired. For maintenance works in various hospitals and CMO office, Dr Joshi was accused of violating the rules by splitting the budget into portions of less than Rs 10 lakh. However, with the inquiry report of the health director general stating that there was no financial loss, the CM approved closing the disciplinary action against Dr Joshi. Further, Rawat also granted approval to transfer Udham Singh Nagar district Panchayat office accountant Govardhan Dumka to Bageshwar on complaints of misbehaviour with senior officials and not taking interest in work.
