The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami greeted the Army, the ex-Army jawans and the people of the State on the occasion of the Vijay Diwas that is celebrated to mark the surrender of the Pakistan Army before the Indian Army that ended up in the liberation of erstwhile East Pakistan that came up as an independent State known as Bangladesh in 1971. He said that the Army’s role is paramount as far as the unity and integrity of the country is concerned. He paid tribute to those whose supreme sacrifice in the 1971 Indo-Pak war had made India’s decisive victory possible.
