CM hands over appointment letters to 272 youths

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami handed over appointment letters to 272 candidates in a programme organised by the Technical Education department on Monday. The department had organised an employment fair in May this year for the students of polytechnic colleges of the State and these candidates were selected by different companies.
Congratulating the selected candidates, the CM said that the employment fairs said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi a campaign is underway in the country to provide employment to the youths and employment fairs are the new addition in this campaign.
Dhami said that Uttarakhand has no dearth of talent and the State government is making every possible effort to provide employment to the youths. He said that the objective of the government is to provide good governance by developing the information technology sector. The CM opined that the Technical Education department can play a key role in this endeavour of the State government.
The CM expressed confidence that the selected candidates would do justice to the faith reposed by the companies in their abilities. He said that the representatives of the industries should provide cooperation to the State government by providing internship, industrial training and hands-on practical training to the students. This will provide more employment opportunities to the students of Uttarakhand, he added. The CM said that the State government has taken 25 commitments for the silver jubilee of creation of Uttarakhand and the technical education department has been given responsibility of implementing the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali vocational education mission scheme.
The Technical Education minister, Subodh Uniyal also congratulated the selected candidates and expressed confidence that their hard work and dedication would encourage the industrial units to recruit more youngsters from the State. He said that the State government has provided a sum of Rs 300 crore for setting up better infrastructure facilities in the polytechnic colleges. On the basis of demand raised by the industries courses in the institutes have been designed.
The department officials claimed that 430 students were selected by different companies in the employment fair organised in the government polytechnic college Kashipur for the students of Kumaon region on April 25 this year. Similarly 608 youngsters of Garhwal region got jobs in the fair organised on May 8. A total of 2,108 students got jobs this year through online placement cells, employment fairs and campus placements.
MLAs Pramod Nainwal, Suresh Chauhan, additional chief secretary Radha Raturi, secretary Ravinath Raman, director of Technical education RP Gupta, director general of UCOST Durgesh Pant and others were present in the programme.
