Arriving in Uttarkashi on a two-day tour on Saturday, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a night chaupal in Netala village. He heard the grievances of the locals and issued necessary instructions to the officials concerned to resolve the issues. The chief minister sat with the people on the floor and heard their issues. He said that the schemes of the government and works being done by the administration can be understood best by sitting among the general public. He said that the State government is enabling women to become rich through self help groups. Along with employment, the youths of the State should also move towards self-employment, he said. Work is also being undertaken to ensure that the Uttarkashi district attains new heights in development.
The CM averred that all round development of Uttarakhand is taking place under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Schemes of the Central and State government are being made keeping in mind the last person in society. Dhami said that the State government is encouraging home stays and that subsidies are being provided for establishing the same. The 1064 service has also been started to clamp down on corruption in the State. He suggested that if the home stays being operated in the area provided local dishes to those undertaking the Char Dham Yatra, it will provide a new identity of the local products and help strengthen the rural areas more.
Continuing his practice, the CM lodged in a local home stay to spend the night instead of choosing a government accommodation.
