CM holds roadshow in Dubai, woos investors
MoUs worth Rs 5,450 crore signed in tourism, education, infra and real estate sectors

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met the representatives of different industrial houses in Dubai on Tuesday during the roadshow organised by the Uttarakhand government to promote the proposed global investors summit. In these meetings memoranda of understanding (MoU) worth Rs 5,450 crore were signed with the industrial houses.
The CM also invited the representatives of the industry to attend the global investors summit in Dehradun on December 8 and 9. In the roadshow, the Uttarakhand delegation entered MoUs in the tourism, education, infrastructure and real estate sectors. MoUs worth Rs 2,000 crore were inked with Sir Biotech and Hyatt India, worth Rs 950 core with Carmilla Nutrition Technology Group for pharma production, worth Rs 800 crore with GST Group and worth Rs 500 crore with Flow Conglomerate in real estate, infra and tourism sectors. The MoUs were signed by the Industries secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey on behalf of the State government.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi an investment friendly system is being developed in Uttarakhand. He said that the trade between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He said that Uttarakhand is keen for planned development of its cities and constructing new cities and for this it needs the expertise of UAE. The CM said that the State government is committed to develop all primary facilities in order to attract the investors and in the last two years concerted efforts are being made in this direction. He said that the State has been able to create an identity for itself due to its progressive and investment friendly policies. Wooing the investors, the CM said that the industrial power tariff is less in Uttarakhand than in other States and industrial behaviour and excellent law and order situation make it special. The CM said that the environment in the State is suitable for organic farming and the State government is formulating new policies and providing facilities for setting up food processing industries. He said that two mega food parks and four clusters are functional in the State.
Cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the State is actively working in the direction of developing it as the favourable destination for investment.
He said that the State government is also endeavouring in the direction of ease of doing business. Rawat said that the State has taken an initiative for ushering in labour reforms and the process of providing land to the investors has also been simplified. The additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan, director general of Industry Rohit Meena and others were present on the occasion.
