CM inaugurates & lays foundation of slew of projects for Nainital

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated 66 projects involving estimated cost of Rs 713 crore and laid foundation stones of 193 projects for Nainital district while attending Ija Beni festival celebrated in M B Inter College in Haldwani. About 40 self-help groups from Nainital and other districts installed stalls in the festival site that showcased mountain products and handicrafts. Several cultural programmes like presentation of folk songs and playing of the traditional musical instrument called Chholiya were held on the occasion. The CM visited the SHG-installed stalls and said that his government is committed to taking steps soon which will help the mountain products and handicrafts enter markets in a big way. Invoking the mother power as an important lever of development, he said that the women’s active participation in every sector of economic activities is an imperative for the State’s speedy development. The State’s women empowerment and child development minister Rekha Arya was present on the occasion.
