CM inaugurates State guest house ‘Uttarakhand Niwas’ in New Delhi

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the State guest house ‘Uttarakhand Niwas’ in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the newly constructed Uttarakhand Niwas incorporates the culture, folk art and architecture of the state. He said that the new building will reflect the rich cultural traditions of Uttarakhand and will provide better facilities to the guests staying here. The CM expressed confidence that the new building will become a symbol of Uttarakhand’s culture and dignity in the national capital.
Dhami said that Uttarakhand will enter the silver jubilee year of its foundation on November 9 and in such a situation, the inauguration of Uttarakhand Bhawan will strengthen our resolve to make the State the best State in the country.
He said that many important schemes and policies have been implemented in the last few years for the overall development of the state. The CM said that Uttarakhand has got the first place in the country in the ranking of Sustainable Development Goals (SGD) released this year by NITI Aayog. The State is listed in the category of achievers in ease of doing business and leaders in Startups. The CM averred that there has been an increase of 33 per cent in GSDP of the State and unemployment rate in the State has reduced by 4.4 per cent in one year. Uttarakhand is also the most favourable State in the field of film production.
Listing achievements of his government, Dhami said that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to take measures for implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He said that the most effective anti-copying law of the country has been implemented in the state and due to this the process of recruitment has become transparent.
Dhami said that 18,500 youngsters have been appointed in different departments in the last three years. He said that in order to protect the sanctity and culture of Devbhoomi a strict law has been implemented to stop religious conversion in the State.
The CM added that more than five thousand government lands have been freed from encroachment. Strict action is being taken on the cases of love jihad and spit jihad in the State. Dhami also reiterated his commitment to bring a strict land law in the budget session of the State assembly.
He said that the State government is continuously working towards connecting the stream of development with the last person in Uttarakhand.
Cabinet ministers Premchand Agarwal, Ganesh Joshi and Dhan Singh Rawat, Member of Parliaments Trivendra Singh Rawat, Ajay Bhatt, Mahendra Bhatt, Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah and Kalpana Saini, MLAs, retired Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, chief secretary Radha Raturi and others were present on the occasion.
Uttarakhand Niwas to showcase architecture & culture of State
DEHRADUN: Constructed at a cost of Rs 120.52 crore, Uttarakhand Niwas is the second State guest house of Uttarakhand in New Delhi. The new and imposing building is constructed on the architecture of Uttarakhand. The guest house will offer traditional cuisine of Uttarakhand to the guests. It will have a special counter for sale of local millets, pulses and organic products. The Chief Minister said that there should be a provision for the sale of Uttarakhand’s cap, pichora, shawl, jackets and other famous products in the Uttarakhand niwas.
