CM launches slew of development works

Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat opened a slew of developmental works by either inaugurating or unveiling the foundation stones for 62 schemes costing Rs 11936 lakh at a function held in the Haldwani Tehsil compound on Thursday. These include 20 schemes costing Rs 3163 lakh which were inaugurated and 42 schemes costing Rs 8773 lakh for which the foundation stones were unveiled.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, theCM reiterated his aim of providing a corruption-free and transparent government in the state. About 30,000 public grievances received on the CM Samadhan portal had been resolved, he said. Rawat pointed out that online education was being provided in 500 schools in the state. “The government has done better work on education, health and infrastructure. Maximum effort is being undertaken to facilitate self-employment for the citizens. The generation of electricity using Pirul (dry pine needles) has also started in the state. The pine jungles in the state have the potential to help generate 200 megawatts of power and provide work to 40,000 people. About 10,000 people will be linked with self-employment based on pine needles for generating power,” said Rawat.
Kaladhungi MLA and BJP State president Banshidhar Bhagat also expressed his views on the occasion. Various local public representatives, Nainital district magistrate Savin Bansal and other officials concerned were also present on the occasion.
