Demands that the CM Dhami should clear his stand on the issue of Lokayukta
Terming the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami as someone obsessed with only making announcements, the vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Surendra Kumar has claimed that most of the declarations and schemes announced by the CM are about the schemes already in existence. Talking to the media persons at the headquarters of the state Congress party here on Thursday, Kumar said that the education minister Arvind Pandey had recently said that there is no need for Lokayukta in the state. He said that CM Dhami should clear his stand on the issue of Lokayukta. The Congress leader said that the BJP in the run up of the assembly elections of 2017 had announced that it would bring Lokayukta within 100 days of assuming office but now the issue has been trashed by the BJP. He questioned- Is the Lokayukta is not being brought to protect the corrupt by the BJP?
He said that everyone knows that the Congress government led by Harish Rawat had sent the Lokayukta law to the governor but it was murdered in the womb in the Raj Bhawan. He said that those who were charged with corruption by the BJP during the Congress regime are now with the BJP and adoring high positions.
He said that the declarations made by the CM on state foundation day are the ones which were started by the former CM Harish Rawat and this government has only changed the name of the schemes. Kumar said that probably CM Dhami does not even know that the schemes he is announcing are already in existence.
