Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered registration of FIR against the company responsible for maintenance of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Chamoli where 16 persons died due to electrocution on Wednesday. On the orders of the CM, an FIR was registered against the supervisor of the Joint ventures Company and others by the revenue inspector of Chamoli on Thursday.
The CM also ordered the Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan to take punitive action against those responsible for the incident after which the chief general manager of the Jal Sansthan suspended the additional assistant engineer Hardev Lal with immediate effect. The suspended officer was responsible for monitoring the work of the firm involved in the operation and the maintenance of the STP.
