In latest news from Dehradun, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officers concerned to roll up their sleeves and plunge in action mode ahead of the monsoon season. Notably, monsoon rain had wreaked havoc in a large swathe of Uttarakhand, flattening houses and damaging crops aside from taking large toll of human lives. Taking lessons of the last year’s monsoon mayhem, the State government should go all-out on time to prevent and mitigate the rain-triggered damages.
A number of senior officers, including the chief secretary Radha Raturi, were present at the meeting.
