CM pays homage to martyrs marking anniversary of 1994 killing

In latest Uttarakhand news, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid homage to the statehood martyrs by offering floral tributes on the memorial in Mussoorie to mark the anniversary of Mussoorie killing. Also, he felicitated the relatives of the statehood martyrs on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, he said that his government has been working hard to fulfill the dream that inspired the movement for a separate State of Uttarakhand. He spoke of the host of schemes rolled out by his government for the statehood agitators and their dependants. Among these include the free travel facility in the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation- operated buses, free education for maximum two children of the statehood agitators in State-run schools and colleges, pension facility for their dependants, monthly pensions amounting to Rs 6,000 for 172 agitators who sustained injuries while participating in the movement and Rs 4500 for 2414 active statehood agitators respectively and monthly pension facility for the dependants of the six injured and 26 active statehood agitators.
