CM pays tribute to statehood martyrs marking Rampur Tiraha killings

In latest news from Dehradun, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid floral tributes to the Uttarakhand statehood movement martyrs in the Kacheri complex in the city and said that thanks to their supreme sacrifice, Uttarakhand had emerged as a separate State. He further said that his government had been striving hard to develop the State as dreamt of by the movement martyrs.
He said that October 2 is a special and sad day in the annals of the Uttarakhand statehood movement as on this day in 1994 several statehood activists were martyred in police atrocities in Rampur Tiraha of Muzaffarnagar district of undivided Uttar Pradesh. The CM further said that his government remained committed to the all-round welfare of the statehood activists.
Among those present on the occasion were the Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’, MLA Khajan Das and district magistrate Sonika.
