In latest news from Uttarakhand, having failed to reach Agastyamuni in Rudraprayag district to attend the Raksha Bandhan  and Mahamilan ceremony due to inclement weather,  the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed the gathering virtually and pledged to go to the district at the earliest. In his virtual address, he pledged a slew of development projects for the district, including elevating Agastyamuni from its present status of nagar panchayat to municipal council, establishing an ITI, declaring the Tungnath Mahotsav as the district fair, widening of the Mayali-Basukedar-Gupkashi road, developing the primary health centre at Guptkashi into a community health centre and beautification of the Maharshi Agasthamuni Mandir among others.

Reiterating his government’s commitment to women empowerment, the CM said that he would continue striving for this cause. He also said that a decision has been taken to reserve horizontally 30 per cent of the government jobs for the women.
