CM Pushkar Singh Dhami completes one month in office

With an eye on elections Dhami has taken many decisions related to public interest & stayed away from controversies

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has completed one month in office. He had taken over the charge as 11th and youngest CM of the state on July 4 after the central leadership of BJP removed Tirath Singh Rawat from the post of CM. With an eye on elections Dhami has taken many decisions of public interest in the last one month and has stayed away from controversies. 

In a message issued on the eve of his completing one month in office, Dhami said that due to the special love of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the cooperation of the Union government, the state of Uttarakhand is moving fast on the path of development. He said that his government is committed to provide transparent and corruption free governance to the people of the state. He added that his government’s priority is to provide employment to the youth. Women empowerment and uplift of Dalits and poor are also on the agenda of his government.

Recently Dhami announced a package of Rs 200 crore for the people associated with the tourism industry which would provide relief to 1.64 lakh people. In the health sector the state government announced Rs 205 crore for the health workers which would benefit 3.73 lakh families.

For the children orphaned during the pandemic period, the state government has started a Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana (MVY) under which a sum of Rs 3,000 per month would be provided to selected children till they attain 21 years of age. Dhami said that government medical colleges would be set up in Haridwar and Pithoragarh districts and for it a sum of Rs 70 crore each would be given to these colleges in this financial year.

In view of the probability of the children getting affected by the disease the state government has earmarked 1,945 paediatric oxygen beds, 739 NICU and PICU beds. The state government has set up a high level committee to study legal repercussions of the Uttarakhand Chardham Devasthanam Board act.

The state government has increased the stipend of the guest teachers from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 and has started the process to fill 22,000 vacant posts in different government departments. In one of the important decisions the Dhami government increased the stipend of MBBS interns from Rs 7,500 to Rs 17,000 per month. The state government has also decided to extend a financial help of Rs 50,000 to the aspirants of the civil services and NDA, CDS. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana financial help has been extended to 16,472 families to build their own houses. The Dhami government has also increased the pensions of veterans and Veer Naris of the Second World War from Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 per month. Under the Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Yojana, kits have been provided to 16,929 mothers and newborn babies.

The CM said that necessary preparations have been made to combat the probable third wave of the pandemic of Covid-19 and the state government has taken up a target of 100 per cent vaccination of the people of the state till December 30 this year.
