While addressing a conference on solar energy at IIT Roorkee during the Perovskite Society of India Meet 2023 on Wednesday, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami invoked the Narendra Modi government, saying that the Centre’s relentless efforts in the realm of generating alternative modes of energy have started bearing fruit and the conference at IIT Roorkee exemplified this fact.
He further said that in view of the conducive climate of Uttarakhand, the potential of alternative energy generation and application is unlimited and the state government has been trying to bring about an energy revolution in the state.
Dhami said that life in the remote villages of the state could be transformed through generation and application of solar energy. “All the energy needs of the people of the mountain areas of the state can be met through use of solar energy,” he said, adding that the use of solar energy in the mountain areas is speedily increasing.
While reiterating his commitment to take Uttarakhand in the list of the most developed states of India by 2025, the CM said that their priority is to electrify every household of the state. “We will succeed in this mission with the increasing generation and application of solar energy,” he said.
He urged the scientists to help boost alternative energy generation and application through organising more such seminars. “I hope that this seminar would help unfold a roadmap on this monumental developmental sector and with this not just Uttarakhand but the whole country would be benefited,” CM averred.
