CM reviews execution of his announcements in 3 districts
Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat reviewed the execution of announcements made by him so far for Pithoragarh, Bageshwar and Champawat districts. He directed the officials concerned that the execution of the CM’s announcements should be completed within the set time frame. Coordination should be established with the local MLAs concerned for the swift redressal of issues faced at the local level. Rawat said that he will review the execution of his announcement every month. In order to expedite execution of his announcements, the CM directed the district magistrates to conduct fortnightly review of the work progress.
It was stated in the meeting that out of the 152 announcements made by the CM for Pithoragarh district, work had been completed on 98 announcements while work is underway on the remaining announcements. Work has been completed on 36 out of the 58 announcements made by Rawat for Bageshwar district with work underway on the remaining. Similarly, work on 53 out of 88 announcements for Champawat district has been completed. Rawat directed the officials to ensure that in addition to ensuring timely completion of work, special focus should also be laid on maintaining quality. He further directed that special focus should be laid on making provision for drinking water, transport and other facilities in religious and tourist spots. Along with the construction of toilets, arrangements for their maintenance should also be ensured. The officials should also accord special attention to the conservation of water. There should be no carelessness especially in works related to basic facilities like drinking water, health and education, stressed the CM.
Regarding Pithoragarh district, officials informed that work had been completed on construction of Baram-Kanar motor road, motor roads from Simal to Nag, Dungatoli to Chunargaon and Bankot to Bhattigaon along with laying of asphalt, improvement and beautification of various other motor roads. A sum of Rs 85.80 lakh has been approved for developing Pithoragarh into a tourism city. Work has been completed on the CM’s announcements regarding the construction of parking facility in Pithoragarh, development of hot water springs at Madkot and Sera, development of Munsyari as a tourist destination, encouraging homestays and construction of hi-tech toilets. In Bageshwar, work has been completed on construction of 60 metre span suspension bridge at Davali on Pindari glacier trek and making of a new trekking route from Sorag to Sundardhunga. Similarly, work has also been completed on announcements related to Bilauna, Kalapairkapdi and Manyuda lift irrigation scheme, construction of various new roads and drinking water schemes. In Champawat district, work has been completed on beautification of the district headquarters, construction of modern toilets in Champawat and Tanakpur, beautification of various parks in the district, development of trekking route at Vanasur and Champawat, construction of parking and bus station in Champawat among other announcements. MLAs concerned and senior officials were also present in the meeting.
