CM rushes to SEOC on return from Delhi

Govt to firm up a plan to help the disaster-affected

In latest news from Dehradun, taking serious note of the Met department’s heavy downpour warning for the next two days in most of the places across the State, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) in the State Secretariat immediately on his return from Delhi and took stock of the situation of the State that has been reeling under severe impact of the unabated spell of torrential rainfall. He declared that the State government would firm up a plan aimed at rehabilitating those who have lost their homes due to the rain-induced disaster and training them so as to enable them to earn living.  Besides, the plan would involve those children who have been orphaned by the rain disaster as the State government would take up the responsibility of their proper education.  

The CM had telephonic conversation with the district magistrates of Tehri and Pauri and took stock of the rain-related damages these two districts have suffered. He directed all the district magistrates of the State to remain in the alert mode in view of the heavy rainfall warning in the coming two days. Besides, he stressed on all the departments acting in tandem during this time of natural calamity. He laid particular emphasis on perfect coordination between the senior administrative officials and the secretary, disaster management.

He said that properties worth Rs 1000 crore have been damaged in the current rain-propelled disaster and the Central Government has already made a preliminary survey of the rain-induced loss the State has incurred.
