CM says SDRF’s Mahakumbh experience will help in Haridwar’s Kumbh 2027

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the work experience of the team of Uttarakhand State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in the Prayagraj Mahakumbh will help the State in managing Haridwar’s Kumbh in 2027. He stated this during the Mahakumbh Prayagraj 2025 Abhinandan programme which was organised at the CM residence on Tuesday to honour 112 SDRF personnel for their dedicated service at the Mahakumbh. 

Dhami praised the SDRF team for their dedication and efficiency, stating that their exemplary performance had brought pride to Uttarakhand. As a token of appreciation, he presented a Rs five lakh award to the SDRF team for their outstanding service at Mahakumbh. He congratulated the team and stated that their experience will be invaluable for managing Haridwar’s Kumbh in 2027. He stated, “This Mahakumbh has boosted the confidence of our personnel and in the future, we will be even more efficient in crowd management.”

Dhami also acknowledged the challenge of handling an event of such religious and cultural significance but commended the joint efforts of the Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh governments in ensuring smooth management. He also stated that preparations are already underway to make the 2027 Haridwar Kumbh grand and well-organised, including a well-planned parking system and other essential facilities.

He also mentioned Uttarakhand’s vulnerability to natural disasters due to its geographical conditions and praised SDRF’s crucial role in disaster management. He acknowledged the team’s quick response skills and use of advanced equipment, which have significantly helped in reducing the impact of disasters in the State.
