CM seeks help from top industrialists to tackle Covid surge

Rawat talks to industry giants including Birla, Adani, Mahindra & Paytm
Chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat interacted with top industrialists of the nation to seek the support of industry in the state’s fight against Covid-19 on Wednesday. Talking to Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla and Gautam Adani of the Adani Group, the chief minister told them about the difficult geographic conditions in the state and the swiftly spreading Covid-19.
Rawat requested the industrialists to provide medical equipment related to Covid treatment to the state as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Both the industrialists assured the chief minister of all possible assistance to Uttarakhand.Interacting online with Mahendra Group chairman Anand Mahindra and Paytm chief executive officer Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Rawat requested them too to provide assistance under CSR to help Uttarakhand in its fight against Covid.
The chief minister said that help in the form of medical equipment would be welcome. He said that if the industrial groups directly provide necessary medical equipment to the state, the state government will not have to undertake governmental formalities which will prevent unnecessary delay. Rawat requested Mahindra to provide 1,000 oxygen cylinders, 1,000 oxygen concentrators, 10 medical oxygen generators, 500 BiPAPs and 500 CPAP monitors among other equipment related to treatment of Covid. The Mahindra Group chairman assured the chief minister of all possible assistance to Uttarakhand. Senior officials of the Mahindra Group were also present in the virtual meeting. In his virtual meeting with the Paytm CEO, the chief minister informed Sharma about the state’s requirements for tackling the Covid surge. Sharma said that 100 oxygen concentrators will be provided soon to Uttarakhand.
Thanking Mahindra and Sharma, the chief minister expressed confidence stating that the fight against Covid will be won with the cooperation of all.
