Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has set up a high level committee headed by additional chief secretary (ACS) Anand Bardhan for monitoring of the ongoing Char Dham Yatra. The CM took a review meeting of the Yatra from New Delhi in a virtual manner on Friday. On a terse note, the CM said that the senior officers of administration and Inspector General (IG) level officers of Police should remain in the field for better operation of the Yatra. The CM said that the responsibilities of the officer concerned would be fixed if pilgrims reach the Dhams without registration. He said that all the departments concerned should work in coordination for smooth operation of Yatra and warned that strict action will be taken against officers failing to discharge their duties properly.

He said that all the pilgrims should get equal time for Darshan in the shrines and senior citizens should be given preference in the system of registration and Darshan. The CM said that the pilgrims held in Rishikesh and Haridwar should be released in different slots for the shrines. He suggested that if required the time of Darshan should be increased in consultation with the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC).

In the meeting the CM directed the officers to make necessary arrangements for the upcoming monsoon season. He said that necessary preparation should be made for meeting the challenge posed by the rains for the Char Dham Yatra.

The CM said arrangements for regular cleaning, sanitation, drinking water and other basic facilities should be made at the holding places of the Yatra.

The meeting was attended by chief secretary Radha Raturi, principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretaries Shailesh Bagoli, Dilip Jawalkar, Garhwal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey and other senior officers of Police and administration.
