The State coordinator of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Jot Singh Bisht said that the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami should start paying attention to the law and order situation here considering the increasing crime incidents in several parts of Uttarakhand. He said that the law and order situation of the State is on the verge of collapsing due to the weak management of the State government.
Several crimes including thefts, murders and crimes against women are becoming a norm in various parts of the State including remote as well as urban areas. He said, “The Uttar Pradesh police recently conducted a raid in Kashipur to nab a wanted criminal without coordinating with the Uttarakhand police that led to the death of a woman. This act was certainly unlawful but it also shows the level of increase in crime in our State.
The criminals in different parts of the State are fearlessly committing different types of crimes like robbery, murder, chain snatching and heinous crimes against women which is worrisome. The role of police is quite good in some places but bad in many places too which should be monitored by the government.” Bisht said that since irresponsible policing can be a major cause of rise in criminal activities in an area, the CM should focus on strengthening the system of law and order in Uttarakhand.
