CM tells officers to prepare for next year’s Char Dham Yatra

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the senior officers of the State administration to complete the process of setting up the Char Dham Yatra authority before January 30, 2025. He ordered the officers to make necessary preparations for next year’s Char Dham Yatra in advance. He said that preparations should be made while keeping in mind the carrying capacity of the shrines, the facilities on the Yatra route and other aspects.
The CM gave these orders while chairing a meeting of the senior officers of the State administration at his residence on Friday. He said that the Char Dham Yatra is associated with the prestige and honour of the State.
He said that suggestions from the Teerth Purohits and other stakeholders should be taken before January 15. The CM said that the suggestions of the stakeholders should be used for better management of the Yatra. He suggested that better use of the digital technology should be made for Yatra registration.
The CM said that in this year’s Yatra a huge number of pilgrims turned out and for better management of next year’s Yatra a comprehensive work plan should be prepared. He directed the officers to ensure that proper boarding and lodging facilities, sanitation and other infrastructure facilities are available at the places where the pilgrims are stopped on transit.
The CM said that special focus on the development of the ancient places of spiritual and historical significance around the Char Dhams.
He directed that efforts to improve arrangements at the winter abodes of the Char Dham during the winter Yatra should be made. The CM said that the significance of Panch Badri and Panch Kedar should be explained and publicised and efforts for their planned development should be made.
A presentation on the problems faced by the authorities in previous years Yatra, challenges and solutions was given by Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak director Dheeraj Sharma in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram, Shailesh Bagauli, Sachin Kurve and others.
