CM tells officials to constitute expert committee for reducing road accidents

Expressing concern at the increasing number of road accidents in the State, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed that a committee of experts should be constituted to prepare regulations for preventing road accidents in the State. The CM chaired a meeting of senior officers of the State administration at his residence on Friday. In the meeting he said that special emphasis should be made for effectively curbing road accidents in the State.
On a stern note the CM said that the officers should ensure that the liquor shops and bars are not open after the stipulated time. He directed that action on drunken driving and over speeding should be taken. The CM said the officers should take necessary action for ensuring public safety.
He said that fixed wing aircrafts should operate from Dehradun to Gauchar and Chinyalisaur. Dhami directed the officers to complete the formalities of tenders and others for the air services to Gauchar and Chinyalisaur.
Principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Garhwal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, additional director general police AP Anshuman and vice chairman of MDDA Banshidhar Tiwari attended the meeting.
