Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that special care on maintaining quality and packaging should be ensured for the products kept under the House of Himalayas brand. The CM chaired a review meeting regarding preparing an action plan, implementation and strategy for establishing the House of Himalayas brand at the international and national level. The meeting was held at Vishwakarma Bhawan auditorium on Saturday.
In the meeting the officers informed the CM about the efforts being made for increasing the products of the State under the House of Himalayas brand and giving them national and international recognition.
The officers further informed that efforts will be undertaken to establish a global presence of 21 products under the House of Himalayas brand. These products include Jhangora, Lal Chawal, Rajma, Gahat Dal, turmeric powder, honey, Toor Dal, black soybean, Basmati rice and pickles of mushroom and garlic. In the second phase 22 products will be promoted. The State government will take the services of the Rural Development department, Forest, Agriculture, Industry, Cooperatives departments and a Netherland based company Women in Wings for promoting the brand.
The CM was involved in detailed discussions on the names of the products, their purchase, location of the stores and the office bearers in the meeting.
He directed that the common public and the self help groups (SHGs) should be associated with the House of Himalayas brand. The CM said that the work on the project should start without any delay. The officers informed that a quality control team will be set up soon which will undertake regular monitoring of the products selected under the brand.
The CM also inaugurated the products selected under the brand on the occasion.
The cabinet ministers Ganesh Joshi and Subodh Uniyal, chief secretary Radha Raturi, principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, secretaries Radhika Jha, Vinay Shankar Pandey, Vinod Kumar Suman and others were present on the occasion.
