CM tells officials to prepare 10-year plan for State’s economy

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the State administration to prepare a comprehensive plan for the next 10 years of the economy of the State.

 The CM gave the order while chairing a meeting with the officers of the State administration at his residence on Saturday.  He said that the long term plan should involve social and economic development, environment protection and use of modern technology and should focus on effective implementation of the schemes.

The CM said that work in a planned manner should be undertaken in the tourism, pilgrimage, rural development, education, skill development and social welfare sectors.

Dhami directed the officers that they should also plan a long term and comprehensive plan for the economy of the State for the year 2047.

The CM said that use of data analysis and research should be made for better budget management and suggestions of experts and the general public should be taken for preparing plans. He said that the officers should work for simplification and digital governance and encourage industrial investment and digital tax collection.

The officers informed the CM that 85 per cent revenue collection against the target has been achieved for the financial year 2024-25. It was informed that the trade tax/ VAT/ GST collection has witnessed a growth of 48 per cent in the last 25 years. The collection has increased to Rs 11,289 crore now from Rs 233 crore in the year 2000.

 The meeting was attended principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, R Meenakshi Sundaram, secretaries Shailash Bagauli, Dilip Jawalkar, Vinay Shankar Pandey, additional director general police AP Anshuman, State tax commissioner Ahmed Iqbal, director  general information Banshidhar Tiwari and officers of GST department.
