CM to inaugurate free WiFi scheme, Dobra-Chanthi bridge to mark 21st State Foundation Day

Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat will inaugurate free WiFi connectivity programme for all State colleges, the Dobra-Chanthi bridge and flag off a mountain bike rally on the eve of the State’s 21st foundation day to be celebrated on November 9. While the State foundation parade and release of a development booklet will be presided over by the chief minister at police lines in Dehradun, Rawat will later attend a parade and cultural function at the summer capital Gairsain. All the main government buildings in all the districts will also be illuminated from November 8 to 11. These decisions were taken in a meeting chaired by the CM at his residence on Tuesday.
It was decided that events to be held to commemorate the occasion will be held with simplicity and decorum. Apart from the main government buildings in all districts, the offices and tourist rest houses of the GMVN and KMVN will also be illuminated. On November 9, homage will be paid to the statehood martyrs at the memorial in Dehradun. The State foundation parade will be held in the police lines in Dehradun. Social distancing and other Covid-19 related guidelines will be strictly observed. Events will be held in all the districts where the ministers in-charge will be the chief guests. The unveiling of foundation stones and inauguration of schemes for the districts will also be undertaken on the occasion. On November 9, the CM will also visit Gairsain where the ITBP and the police will conduct a parade which will be followed by cultural programmes. On the following day, the CM will unveil the foundation stones of and inaugurate various development works at Bharadisain in Gairsain.
Cabinet minister Arvind Pandey, State minister Dhan Singh Rawat, secretaries Amit Singh Negi, Radhika Jha and information director general Meharban Singh Bisht were also present in the meeting in which these decisions were taken.
