CM to inaugurate Kisan Mela in Pantnagar today

The four-day 116th All -India Farmers Fair and Agricultural Industry Exhibition is commencing on Friday with 210 big and 190 small stalls, said the director, Extension Education, GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology,  Jitendra Kwatra while addressing a media conference in the presence of the university’s vice chancellor Manmohan Singh Chauhan on Thursday. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will inaugurate the fair at 11:00 am. After the inauguration, he along with the VC and other dignitaries will visit the stalls set up by various colleges and other institutions.

The VC said that over 400 stall holders had registered themselves and added that the farmers would get detailed information about the new varieties and new techniques adopted by the university. He further said that with organic farming being given a special place in the fair, the experts would enlighten the farmers on the advantages of switching to organic farming.
