CM to launch Fit U’khand app & portal on Thursday

Sports minister Rekha Arya informed that on September 18, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will inaugurate the special portal and mobile app for the Fit Uttarakhand initiative. She said this while chairing a meeting to review departmental schemes on Tuesday.
She said that preparations for the Fit Uttarakhand initiative have been ongoing for a considerable time and the launch of the portal and app is set for September 18. Following the launch, various engaging competitions will be organised till October 2 to encourage participation from people of all age groups across the State. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of these competitions.
Arya emphasised that the aim of this campaign is to raise awareness about health and fitness among individuals of every age. This year, the sports event known as Khel Mahakumbh will be introduced in a new format and will be renamed the CM Cup. The competitions will be held at various levels, starting from the Nyay Panchayat level up to the State level, with the target date for the event set for October 1.
Arya also instructed officials to prepare budget allocations in advance for the Mukhyamantri Udyaman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana and the Khiladi Protsahan Yojana, ensuring that funds can be disbursed to athletes on time. She also directed arrangements for the early budget allocation for the honorarium of contractual trainers appointed within the Sports department. Progress towards setting up a Sports University was also reviewed during the meeting.
