The sports minister Rekha Arya said that chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will launch the Mukhyamantri Khiladi Udiyaman Yojana on the occasion of National Sports Day on August 29. She informed that children between the ages of 8 to 14 years will be provided Rs 1,500 each as a sports scholarship. About 4000 children will be the beneficiaries of the scheme which will help them to build a bright future, said Arya. According to her, the launch event will be organised in every district in the presence of officials concerned, respective MLAs and other public representatives of the respective areas. She also conducted a review meeting on Friday to discuss and review the preparation made by the officials of the sports department for the launch of the scheme. She directed all the officers to ensure that talented children who are into sports from all the districts belonging to the eligible age group to be the beneficiary of the scheme participate in the launch event. A grand event will also be organised in the state capital Dehradun. She said that the government is also working seriously on preparing a game nursery in the state which will also contribute immensely to the future of those children who want to be a sports person.
