CM unveils, lays foundations for works worth more than Rs 100 crore in Champawat & Lohaghat
State’s development to begin with Champawat, says Dhami

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and unveiled the foundation stones for 42 works worth more than Rs 100 crore for Champawat and Lohaghat Assembly constituencies at a programme in Champawat on Wednesday. Dhami also made various announcements for the development of Champawat district including renovation of 100 government schools in the district, industrial development through NABARD, building a horticultural farm at Mundyani, adventure park in Champawat along with a shooting range for which the district magistrate will identify the land. He further announced that Champawat will be developed as a heritage city. He further said that national level river rafting will be facilitated in the district and that paragliding will also be developed in the area. The chief minister made various other announcements related to infrastructural, tourism and livelihood development in various parts of the district.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Dhami said that the development of the State will start with Champawat district to make Uttarakhand a model State. Stating that the first 100 days of the current State government had been of dedication and effort he said that the Uttarakhand government is working to lay the foundations for the State’s development. Various historic works had been done by the State government in its 100 days in office, he said. Stating that followers of all religions reside in Uttarakhand, Dhami said that the State government is working towards implementing the Uniform Civil Code in the State. The State government has also increased the amount paid under different pensions. Further, in order to clamp down on corruption in the State, the government has issued 106 toll-free number. Dhami further said that the SS Jeena university campus will be built in Champawat for which a sum of Rs five crore has been released. Champawat will become a model district in the coming time with the government working to facilitate all round development in the region, he said. The chief minister also spoke about the various important works done by the Union government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his eight years in office so far.
The Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation chairman Kailash Gehtodi, various public representatives and officials were also present on the occasion.
