CM virtually participates in Garhwal University’s golden jubilee celebration

Dhami hails its research & public-spirited works

In latest news from Uttarakhand, while virtually participating in the golden jubilee celebration of the Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami hailed the institute’s success in academics over the past five decades exemplified by its recognition as a Central University in 2009.  The CM particularly lauded the research works being conducted by the university. He also said that the institute has been playing an important role in raising awareness about the modern agricultural techniches, coarse grains production, environment, local dialects and culture. He specially mentioned the research centre the university has been running on myriad species of the rare Himalayan medicinal plants in the Tungnath shrine located at an altitude of 13,000 feet. Dhami said that the institute’s Museum of Archeology and Ethnology speaks volume of its commitment to preserve the ancient culture and the ethic diversity that the region is endowed with.
