CM visits disaster-affected Dharchula, assures all possible assistance

A day after a woman was killed by debris and several homes were damaged following heavy rain in the Dharchula area of Pithoragarh district, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the disaster-affected Ranthi (Khotila) village and interacted with the locals. Interacting with the disaster-affected villagers Dhami sought information about their issues and assured them of all possible assistance. He said that proper arrangements for accommodation, food, and clothing should be made for the disaster affected, which will be paid for by the government. The CM also presented relief amounts by cheque to six affected families including Rs four lakh to the family of the woman killed in the disaster. The authorities are working to provide the relief amount soon to the remaining affected families.
Dhami also inspected the embankments along the Kali river in Dharchula. He directed the Pithoragarh district magistrate Ashish Chauhan to ensure that all possible steps to provide relief to the affected persons are taken swiftly. The government is prepared to take all possible steps for the rehabilitation of the disaster affected, he said. MP Ajay Tamta, MLAs Harish Dhami, Bishan Singh Chufal, local public representatives and officials were also present along with the CM.
