Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s humanitarian initiative has helped an old woman return to her village in Almora from Mumbai after being missing for nearly six months. A video came to the notice of the CM recently in which an old woman can be seen sitting on a Mumbai street wearing torn clothes and talking about her home in Almora where her son and daughter live. Taking cognisance of the condition of the lost old woman, Dhami directed the police officials to take action to find her and bring her back from Mumbai. Following the orders, the Superintendent of Police of Almora, Pradeep Kumar Rai started the investigation and identified the woman in the video as Hema Devi, a resident of Kotiyag village of Bhikiyasain tehsil of Almora district. According to the SP, Hema Devi is mentally unstable and has been missing for about six months. However, nobody has filed any missing report of her in any police station, as per the police. A team of Almora police went to Mumbai after identifying the missing woman and traced her there. The officials said that the woman is being brought to the State after carrying out her medical check up in Mumbai. The CM Dhami has expressed happiness over the return of the old woman and appreciated the police team for successfully locating her and bringing her home after six months.
