In latest news from Doon, just four days after the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami cracked the whip, as many as 307 roads spread across the State which had remained blocked for days following torrential rain and landslides/rockfalls, have reopened for traffic. At present, 174 roads are still blocked and the CM directed the departments concerned to ensure that these reopen too at the earliest.
Further, he ordered the secretary, disaster management for Uttarakhand to send him a report by September 25, detailing the still-blocked roads and giving reasons why these are taking time to reopen. Plus, he directed all the district magistrates to meet the officers concerned immediately on the blocked roads and firm up strategies to ensure that these reopen without further delay.
