The Indian Coast Guard mountaineering team embarked on a challenging expedition to the 7,130-meter-high Mount Mukut East Peak as part of preparations for the Mount Everest expedition. Importantly, the general secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Acharya Balkrishna, sent off the team. It is being organised in collaboration with the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI), Darjeeling.
Acharya Balkrishna stated that the bravery and dedication of the soldiers deployed to protect the country gives them the strength to face even the most difficult challenges and expressed confidence that the team would successfully complete the expedition.
The principal, HMI, Colonel Rajneesh Joshi said the expedition would carry forward the adventurous tradition of Indian mountaineering and inspire youth towards nature, discipline, courage, and service to the nation.
The Commandant Vishwajeet, a senior officer of the Indian Coast Guard Mountaineering Team, stated that this expedition is not merely a mountaineering challenge, but a commitment to take the spirit of national service and dedication to the heights of the Himalayas. He explained that climbing Mount Mukut East is the Coast Guard’s first attempt before the Mount Everest expedition.
