Cold departs but rain forecast yet again in State

Temperatures in Uttarakhand have started to rise after a brief spell of snowfall and rain at a time when a hot March has been forecast in the country. Meanwhile, the State Meteorological Centre has forecast that light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts, and at isolated places in Dehradun and Tehri districts on Tuesday. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts. The meteorological centre has also issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of thunder cloud development likely in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of light rain during the forenoon. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 25 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile, the temperatures were odd in various parts of the State on Monday. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 28.1 degrees Celsius and 10.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 28.5 degrees Celsius and 8.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 19 degrees Celsius and 5.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 18 degrees Celsius and 5.7 degrees Celsius in Tehri. The maximum temperatures  in these places were above normal barring Tehri while the minimum were below normal.
