Cold intensifies in State, Doon set to be colder today

Fog warning issued for Udham Singh Nagar & Haridwar districts

The minimum temperature dropped by a few degrees below normal in Dehradun and other parts of the State on Sunday. Meanwhile, the winter chill is intensifying in the mountainous regions. On Sunday, the State meteorological centre issued a yellow warning (watch) regarding the possibility of moderate to dense fog likely to occur in some parts of Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts on Monday. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts of the State today. The meteorological centre has further forecast that the provisional State capital Dehradun will witness a mainly clear sky on Monday. Mist is likely to occur during the morning hours while the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 23 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Sunday were 23.8 degrees Celsius and 7.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 21.6 degrees Celsius and 4.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 15.5 degrees Celsius and three degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 16.4 degrees Celsius and four degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The minimum temperature in Dehradun dropped by one degree Celsius from normal in Dehradun while the maximum and minimum temperature dropped by three degrees Celsius from normal each in Pantnagar. Similarly, the minimum temperature dropped by one degrees Celsius from normal in Mukteshwar while the maximum and minimum temperatures dropped by one degrees Celsius from normal each in New Tehri.
