To enhance healthcare services for patients, the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) will soon introduce a colour Doppler testing facility. Informing about this, the deputy medical superintendent at GDMC Dr NS Bisht shared that the hospital administration consistently seeks to improve the healthcare services available to patients. In alignment with this objective, the administration, in collaboration with the outsourcing company that supports the hospital’s radiology department, has decided to install a colour Doppler machine.
Dr Bisht further noted that the ultrasound services currently provided by the outsourcing company are located in the outpatient department building and the installation of the colour Doppler machine is underway. This addition will allow patients to receive testing on-site, eliminating the need to visit private laboratories for such services.
In addition to this, funds will be conserved, as private laboratories typically charge considerable fees for colour Doppler tests. In contrast, the tests at GDMC will be conducted at the rates set by the CGHs. He further emphasised that the installation of the colour Doppler will provide significant benefits to patients through comprehensive examination of the arteries and veins, allowing for a deeper understanding of the patient’s condition at the foundational level of their health. It is anticipated that, following the necessary preparations, operation of the colour Doppler machine at GDMC will commence shortly.
