Commissioner orders construction of boundary walls on Govt land freed of encroachment

The Garhwal commissioner Sushil Kumar ordered the district administrations of Garhwal division to build boundary walls on government lands freed from encroachment without worrying about the budget. He instructed all district officials to take land frauds seriously and take necessary action on time. He gave these directions in the land fraud coordination committee meeting held on Friday.

Kumar was informed that the authorities concerned have removed encroachments from several government lands in the Dehradun district. He directed the district magistrates (DMs) to conduct a monthly review meeting of land frauds occurring in their districts and act accordingly at their level. He also directed the Dehradun administration to form a committee to probe the case of the fraudster who allegedly sold the land of a deceased person. He directed the ADM to file an FIR in the case against the accused and take action against the buyer of the land too. He has sought submission of the report in 15 days.
