Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government is committed to women empowerment and giving every possible support to the women entrepreneurs. He was addressing the ‘Matri Shakti Samvad’ programme organised at his residence on Saturday.
” You should remain positive and focused on their goals. The government is with you,’’ he said.
During the event, the CM directly interacted with women, who shared their views and suggestions on various government schemes. Responding to a question, Dhami stated that the government is making every effort to develop the skill- set of women and to promote their products globally.
Listing schemes such as Mukya Mantri Udyamshala, the CM averred that easy loans are being made available to promote women entrepreneurs. He opined that the women of Uttarakhand, who possess the courage of the Himalayas, have benefited significantly from the women-centric policies of the Central and State governments. On the suggestion of developing women self-help groups into large business groups, CM Dhami said that they can take the help of Mukhyamantri Shashakt Behena Yojama in this regard.
He added that the unique products made by women in Uttarakhand have been given a new identity through the House of Himalaya brand. The government is now developing a mega centre on Sahastradhara Road in Dehradun, where unique products made by women from all 13 districts will be available for sale.
“Women should pay attention to the quality of their products, once trust is built then people will come forward to buy them themselves. The products made by the women of Uttarakhand are much better than the products of multinational companies in terms of quality,’’ he said.
Lansdowne MLA Dilip Rawat, chairman of Gau Seva Aayog Rajendra Anthwal and others were present on the occasion.
