Keeping in view the upcoming Char Dham Yatra, the Tehri district magistrate Mayur Dixit directed the district administration officials to complete all arrangements related to the annual pilgrimage by April 15 while chairing a meeting at Muni Ki Reti on Saturday. Earlier, he sought information about the pilgrimage preparations from the officers concerned.
He asked them to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply along the Yatra routes and to identify places for water ATM installation. The PWD officers were asked to have the damaged roads, parapets and crash barriers repaired and the
roadside drains cleaned. He also stressed on checking Sulabh toilets, putting up signage, sending stray animals to cowsheds and increasing the number of sanitation staff for regular cleaning. Besides, he directed officers to have rate lists pasted at hotels, dhabas and restaurants to check overpricing during the Yatra.
