PNS/PANTNAGAR

The two -day national conference on Biotechnological Intervention in Animal Production and Management organised by Uttarakhand Council for Biotechnology

concluded in Pantnagar on Wednesday. The chief guest of the conference Shiv Prasad Kimothi, who is a member of the Agricultural Scientific Selection Board, exhorted the youth on the concluding day to develop entrepreneurship in the field of animal farming. He further opined that the country’s economy would really look up when the rate of imports deceases and the rate of exports increases. “This is possible only through enhancement of entrepreneurship and start-ups,” he said.

The head of Banvasi Kalyan Ashram, Dalchand said that the simple and cheap products developed through research can reach the people thick and fast. “If the products developed from research are not simple and cheap they remain beyond the people’s reach, confined within the laboratory walls,” he said. He further stressed on churning out effective treatment of several diseases which are afflicting the endangered species. “They must be conserved in the interests of the society,” he said.

Director, Uttarakhand Council for Biotechnology Sanjay Kumar said that biotechnology has been playing an increasingly significant role in facilitating India’s self-reliance and added that it is going to permeate every field of life in the coming days, given its inclusive nature.
