Cong candidates from Haridwar, Garhwal, Nainital & Almora to file nominations today

Congress party candidates from the Garhwal, Haridwar, Nainital- Udham Singh Nagar and Almora Lok Sabha constituencies will file their nomination papers on Wednesday.
The Congress candidate from Garhwal Lok Sabha, Ganesh Godiyal will file his nomination papers at the Pauri collectorate at 11 am on Wednesday. Many senior leaders of the party are expected to accompany him. After filing his nomination, Godiyal will address a public meeting at Ramlila ground of Pauri. In a message, Godiyal appealed to the people to attend his nomination rally in large numbers to boost his morale. In Garhwal Godiyal is pitted against Anil Baluni of BJP who filed his nomination papers on Tuesday. The party candidate from Haridwar Virendra Singh Rawat will file his nomination papers on Wednesday. Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat and other senior leaders of the party including MLAs of the party will remain present at the time of filing of nomination. In Haridwar Virendra Rawat is locked in a battle with former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. The MLA from Khanpur assembly constituency Umesh Kumar is also in the fray in Haridwar.
The veteran leader of Congress party Pradeep Tamta will also file his nomination paper from Almora (SC) constituency on Wednesday. The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara and other senior leaders of the party will accompany Tamta who is pitted against Ajay Tamta of BJP. Interestingly it will be the fourth contest between the two leaders in Almora. In the election of 2009 Pradeep Tamta of Congress won from the seat while in the elections of 2014 and 2019 Ajay Tamta of BJP defeated Pradeep Tamta with comfortable margins.
In Nainital the party candidate Prakash Joshi will file his nomination papers on Wednesday. He will challenge the union minister of State Ajay Bhatt who is in fray as the BJP candidate from the constituency.
