Claims Rajendra Bhandari not invited in the meeting the CM took with MLAs of Garhwal

The Uttarakhand Congress has strongly objected to the exclusion of its Badrinath MLA Rajendra Bhandari from the review meeting of the development works in the Garhwal parliamentary constituency. In this meeting held on Friday, the MLAs of the Garhwal parliamentary constituency were invited by the State administration but the Congress MLA Bhandari claims that he was not invited. The Congress party is now planning to raise the issue during the upcoming session of the State Assembly in Gairsain.

Interacting with the media persons at the State headquarters of the Congress party on Saturday, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara said that it is unfortunate that the Congress MLA was not invited in such an important meeting where all other MLAs of Garhwal took part. Terming it as an insult to the people of the Badrinath constituency, the PCC president said that such a heinous crime can be done by the BJP government only. He said that Bhandari was planning to raise the issues of the Joshimath land subsidence in the meeting. Mahara said that Joshimath is an important centre in the Char Dham Yatra and is associated with the religious sentiments of 80 crore Hindus and its existence is threatened by the land subsidence. Bhandari also wanted to raise the issue of land subsidence in Gopeshwar and the Bahaguna Nagar of Karnprayag in the meeting.  Mahara said that the CM should take action against the officers who were responsible for sending invitations for the meeting. He added that if the decision of not inviting Bhandari was taken at the highest level then the CM should apologise for this.

Separate meeting to be held with opposition MLAs:Bhatt

Regarding the opposition MLA not being called to the meeting of MLAs chaired by the chief minister, the Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt has clarified that instead of a joint meeting with all MLAs, separate meetings will be held with MLAs of both the sides. Talking to media persons here on Saturday, the BJP State president said that a meeting will be held soon with the Congress and other MLAs and their suggestions will also be sought.
