The state unit of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the Congress party of engaging in petty politics over the forest fires and ongoing shortage of power in Uttarakhand. Responding to the allegations levelled by former chief minister Harish Rawat and leader of opposition (LoP) Yashpal Arya on these issues the media in charge of Uttarakhand BJP, Manvir Chauhan said that the entire machinery of the state under the leadership of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is working on a war scale to tackle these problems so that the people of the state get relief but the Congress leaders engaged in a bitter factional war are unable to see these efforts.

Taking a dig at the LoP Yashpal Arya, the BJP leader Chauhan said that the allegation that the state government has done nothing in the last 30 days is being made by the person who was able to get the position of LoP after a month long internal squabble. On the charge of Arya that the government is being run without any plan, Chauhan said that everyone knows that the Vision document of BJP is the plan and target of Dhami government. He said that the BJP is not like the Congress party which makes so many false promises to the people and for whom a new ministry had to be created.

On the statements made by the former CM Harish Rawat in which he had raised apprehensions on the victory of president of state BJP and had accused the BJP of becoming arrogant, Chauhan said that even after registering back to back victories the BJP is showing modesty while the arrogance of Congress party leaders is intact even after tasting one defeat after one another.

He advised the Congress leaders to first resolve the internal differences among each other and then, if they get time, provide positive support to the government on the issues of public interest.
