Cong govt will bring employment & prosperity – Rawat

As soon as the Congress forms its government, focus will be laid on boosting employment by filling vacant posts and generating employment opportunities at the rate of 10 per cent annually. Former chief minister and Congress assembly election campaign committee head in Uttarakhand, Harish Rawat said this while addressing a gathering at Khadakpur in Lalkuan constituency. Accusing the BJP government of discontinuing the development initiatives of its predecessor Congress government, he said that on being elected, the Congress government will implement 21 public welfare pension schemes and also hike the pension amount. Accusing the BJP for price rise and unemployment, Rawat said that these issues will be dealt with effectively by the Congress government. In its five year term, the Congress government will facilitate a considerable increase in the monthly income of women in the state. Stating that the ensuing assembly election will change the fate of Uttarakhand, he said that if the Congress is elected to form the government, it will bring prosperity whereas the BJP forming its government again will be unfortunate for the state. Former cabinet ministers Yashpal Arya, Harish Chandra Durgapal and other party leaders also addressed the gathering. Khadakpur Gram Pradhan Shankar Joshi along with his wife and former district Panchayat member Kiran Joshi along with several others left the BJP to join the Congress on the occasion.
