Cong high command unhappy with reluctant leaders

The Congress high command has taken a serious note of the reluctance shown by the senior leaders to contest the Lok Sabha elections. The names of senior leaders of the State Congress were discussed in the meeting of the party’s central election committee.
It is learnt that in the meeting the former Congress president Sonia Gandhi expressed her displeasure at the reluctance shown by the senior leaders to enter the electoral fray. The Congress high command is learnt to have told the reluctant leaders clearly that their reluctance will be kept in mind while giving assignments to them in the future as well. After prolonged discussions which were marred by the difference of opinion between the leaders of State Congress, the names of three candidates were finalised in the meeting of CEC.
It is worth mentioning here that the former chief minister Harish Rawat, former PCC president Pritam Singh and leader of opposition Yashpal Arya have shown reluctance to contest the Lok Sabha elections. The party high command wants the senior leaders to set an example by leading from the front in the constituencies which are tough so their reluctance has annoyed the top leadership.
