In latest news from Uttarakhand, when the campaigning for the January 23 ULB polls has started picking up momentum, the opposition Congress has received another setback. A senior party leader who was a close confidante of late Indira Hridayesh Saurabh Bhatt left the party and joined the BJP along with his supporters on Tuesday in the presence of the MP Ajay Bhatt, district BJP chief Pratap Bisht and the mayoral candidate Gajraj Bisht.
After joining the BJP, Bhatt said he had pledged his full support behind the party’s mayoral aspirant Gajraj Bisht.
